Faith, Family, and the Power of Positivity!

If life has taught me anything—from the ice rinks of my hockey career to the boardrooms of business—it’s this: We don’t always get to choose the battles we face. But we do get to choose how we fight them.

When I was chasing my dream of playing in the NHL, I faced more setbacks than I can count. Injuries, doubts, rejections. Every time I got knocked down, I had a choice: stay down or get back up with a positive mindset. That mindset carried me to signing a NHL contract with the New York Rangers—a dream realized because I refused to let negativity win.

In business, the same rule applies. Some days are wins. Others feel like losses. But I’ve learned that positivity isn’t just a nice idea—it’s a competitive advantage.

Still, nothing tested my belief, my resolve, or my positivity more than when my son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just four years old.

I remember those first few days. I was scared. Angry. Completely helpless.

As a father, I wanted to fix it, but this wasn’t something I could just power through or outwork. Our family was thrown into a new world of insulin shots, glucose monitors, sleepless nights, and constant worry.

But in the midst of the uncertainty, our family made a decision—a decision that changed everything:

We chose to stay positive. And we chose to lean on our faith in God.

We knew we couldn’t walk this journey alone. And truthfully, we didn’t have to.

Our faith reminded us that while we didn’t understand why this was happening, we could trust that God was walking with us through it.

Scripture promises that “all things work together for the good of those who love Him”—and we held onto that with everything we had.

We prayed together. We cried together. We rallied together.

And piece by piece, day by day, our fear was replaced with faith. Our panic turned into peace. Our pain became a platform for growth—not just for us, but for others we could encourage.

What I’ve Learned About Positivity

Positivity isn’t pretending everything’s perfect.

It’s believing that, with God’s help, you can overcome whatever comes your way.

Whether it was on the ice chasing a dream, in business navigating uncertainty, or in our home navigating our son’s diagnosis, I’ve learned that:

Faith grounds you.

Family strengthens you.

Positivity fuels you.

Our mindset, powered by our faith, didn’t just help us survive those first difficult months—it helped us rise above them.

A Question For You

So what about you?

Maybe you’re facing something right now that feels overwhelming—at work, in your health, or in your home.

You might not control the circumstances, but you can control your mindset.

You can choose to stay positive.

You can lean into your faith.

You can believe that God isn’t done writing your story.

Remember, the most important battles aren’t won by strength alone. They’re won by faith, by family, and by a fierce refusal to give up.

Whatever you’re facing this week, you’re not alone.

Keep going. Stay positive. Trust God.

The best chapters are still being written!

If your business needs marketing that works, give us a call. We're here to help!

Have a great day unless you chose otherwise!
