Staying Connected
The other morning, I woke up to a power outage. No lights, no computer, no phone, no hot water. For a few hours, everything in my world felt powerless.
Then, just like that, the power came back on. The house lit up, the furnace kicked in, and the fridge hummed back to life. The issue?
A car had hit a transformer in the neighborhood. Once the repair crew reconnected the line, everything worked again.
That simple outage reminded me of something important: when we’re disconnected, we lose power. When we’re connected, we gain it.

Lessons From Hockey
In hockey, I’ve been part of teams that had all the talent in the world but couldn’t pull together. The locker room was divided, and when that happens, you feel it on the ice.
Disconnected teams play weak and don’t play for each other.
But I’ve also been part of teams where the bond ran deep. Guys trusted each other, backed each other up, and moved as one.
Those were the teams that found another gear in the playoffs. Unity and connection gave us strength to overcome whatever challenges or injuries we faced.
Business & Family
It’s no different in business. I’ve worked with organizations where departments were siloed and disconnected—it drained energy and progress.
But when leadership intentionally built connection, alignment, and trust, results soared.
And in family life, I’ve seen the same. When health challenges arose in our family with my son and wife the only way through those difficult months was by rallying together as a family and staying connected to God.
Prayer, community, and unity became our lifeline. Disconnection would have left us powerless, but connection fueled us forward.
Faith Perspective
Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.”
That’s the ultimate reminder. Spiritual connection is the source of real power. When we disconnect from God, from others, or even from ourselves, we run on empty.
But when we stay connected—through faith, prayer, and love—we tap into strength greater than our own.
This Weeks Challenge: Reconnect & Recharge
- Check your connections. Where in your life do you feel weak, anxious, or drained? It may be a sign of disconnection.
- Reconnect relationally. Call a friend, encourage a teammate, or spend intentional time with family.
- Reconnect spiritually. Spend time in prayer or scripture this week. Plug back into the true source of power.
- Reconnect as a team. If you’re in business or sports, take one step to build unity—whether that’s a meeting, a meal, or simply encouraging others.
The power is always there, waiting. You don’t have to manufacture it—you just have to restore the connection.
If your business needs marketing that works, give us a call. We're here to help!
Have a great day unless you chose otherwise!
