Of Course You Can!

Not long ago, I was reflecting on the idea of speaking faith and belief into people — what some might call manifesting. Personally, I don’t love that word. To me, it sounds like we’re somehow the ones creating the outcome, when I believe that kind of power belongs to God alone.

But what I do believe in — wholeheartedly — is vision casting.

It’s about seeing potential in others and speaking that vision over their lives with conviction.

Check Out Our Video Of The Week - Believe

It’s about helping people see what’s possible, even when they can’t yet see it themselves.

Throughout my life — as a professional hockey player, a business owner, a coach, and a husband and father — I’ve had people do that for me. And it started early.

When I was a kid chasing the dream of playing in the NHL, there were moments I doubted I could make it.

I wasn’t the biggest or the most talented, and the road ahead looked long. But my parents, especially my dad, always had this unshakable belief in me.

Whenever I said, “I don’t think I can do it,” he’d look me straight in the eye and say, “Of course you can.”

He never said, “Just do your best,” or “We’ll see how it goes.” he spoke confidence into me as if it were already a fact. And because he believed it — I started to believe it too.

Those words shaped my mindset on and off the ice. Whether I was battling through tough seasons, injuries, or later navigating challenges in business and leadership, that same phrase still echoes in my head: Of course you can.

Now, as a coach, I try to do the same for the young players I coach and mentor.

When a player misses a shot or doubts himself, I don’t just correct his mechanics — I try and speak to his heart.

I remind him of who he is, what he’s capable of, and where he’s headed. I’ve seen what happens when someone feels believed in. It’s powerful.

And it’s not just a coaching lesson — it’s a life lesson.

You and I have the ability to speak courage into people. We can see something in them that they may not yet see and call it out with words of faith.

That’s what vision casting really is — not wishful thinking, but faithful speaking.

The Bible says, “Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11). It’s not just about giving compliments — it’s about shaping belief.

When we tell someone, “You are strong. You are capable. You will succeed,” we’re planting seeds that grow into confidence, purpose, and perseverance.

So this week, I want to challenge you to do something simple but powerful: Speak belief into someone’s life.

Tell your kids, your teammates, your coworkers, your friends what you see in them.

Don’t wait for the perfect moment — create it.

Because sometimes, the most life-changing words a person will ever hear are the same ones my dad spoke to me:

Of course you can.

If your business needs marketing that works, give us a call. We're here to help!

Have a great day unless you chose otherwise!
