Reflections From This Year!

As we head into a new year, I wanted to pause for a moment. This is the last Monday Morning Motivator before the calendar flips, and before we rush into new goals, new plans, and new expectations, I think it’s worth reflecting on what the past year has taught us.

Over the years — in locker rooms, boardrooms, and living rooms — I’ve learned that growth doesn’t just come from pushing forward. It also comes from looking back and asking, “What really mattered? What actually made me better?”

Check Out Our Video Of The Week – Make an Impact

Here are a few lessons I’m carrying with me into the new year.

1 - Hug the people you love like it might be the last time.

I have lost some dear friends to health issues this year and my best friend is currently battling stage 4 cancer.

Life is fragile. Hug your people a little longer. Let them be the one who pulls away.

2 - One year of focused effort can change everything.

In hockey, most players overestimate what they can do in one practice and underestimate what consistent effort over a full season can do.

If you show up every day, momentum builds. One year of focused effort can change the trajectory of your life.

3 - If you think something kind about someone, say it.

Too often we wait too long. Encouragement costs nothing, but it can mean everything.

Give people their flowers while they can still smell them.

4 - Regret is more painful than failure.

Failure stings, but regret lingers. Some things I never regret:

Time with my family.

Meaningful conversations.

Pushing myself.

Creating something that matters.

Make your own list and spend more time there.

5 - Don’t let the quest for more steal the beauty of enough.

Growth is good. Gratitude keeps us grounded.

Enjoy the climb. Don’t miss the view where you’re standing.

6 - Fall in love with the process.

Championship teams focus on daily habits, not trophies.

Lay one brick at a time. Trust that consistency compounds.

7 - Choose an abundance mindset.

Scarcity creates fear. Abundance creates opportunity.

A rising tide lifts all boats.

8 - Small daily commitments beat big occasional efforts.

Thirty minutes a day for thirty days adds up in powerful ways.

Consistency beats intensity every time.

9 - Don’t take advice from the sidelines.

When you’re in the arena, listen to people who understand the fight.

Take advice from those who have scars, not just opinions.

One final lesson.

Find your people. Love them fiercely. Walk into the new year together.

My prayer for you is simple:

Stay healthy.

Stay grateful.

Grow with intention.

Trust God with what lies ahead.

If your business needs marketing that works, give us a call. We're here to help!

Have a great day unless you chose otherwise!
