Calling Down Your Fire!
We hope you had a fantastic holiday season and we wish you much Blessings, Success and Health in the New Year! This week I was reminded of a powerful story that’s stayed with me over the years—one that speaks to belief, purpose, and the quiet strength inside each of us.
It comes from the story of Elijah.

Now, whether you grew up reading the Bible or not, don’t get stuck on the source. What matters here isn’t theology—it’s the truth behind the lesson.
Elijah was known for one thing: calling down fire.
According to Scripture, there were moments when Elijah stood alone, surrounded by doubt, opposition, and fear—and still, fire came. Not because of his strength, but because of his belief and obedience.
I believe that story. Not because I can prove every detail, but because I’ve chosen to believe it.
And here’s what I’ve learned over time: belief is always a choice.
I’ve seen it in locker rooms. I’ve lived it in business. I’ve relied on it in my family and my faith.
Facts matter—but belief determines direction.
WE ALL HAVE A FIRE TO CALL DOWN
I’ll never forget being a young hockey player chasing a dream that felt far bigger than me. Plenty of people didn’t think it was realistic. Some thought it was foolish. At times, I wondered the same thing.
But there was something inside me—something I couldn’t fully explain—that kept pushing me forward.
That was my fire.
You have one too.
It may not look dramatic or public. It might not come with applause or headlines. But there is something you do naturally well. Something that feels right when you’re doing it. Something that energizes others when you show up fully.
Maybe your fire is leadership. Maybe it’s compassion. Maybe it’s creativity, teaching, building, encouraging, coaching, planning, or serving.
You know what it is. You’ve always known.
EVEN THE STRONGEST DOUBT THEMSELVES
One of the most powerful parts of Elijah’s story comes after the fire.
Right after a massive victory, Elijah runs. He hides. He doubts. He feels alone.
I relate to that.
I’ve had seasons where I felt confident and clear—and seasons where I questioned everything. After big wins and after painful losses. After success and after setbacks.
That’s part of being human.
And that’s why I love the moment when Elijah hears God—not in the wind, not in the earthquake, not in the fire—but in a gentle whisper:
“What are you doing here?”
Not condemnation. Not judgment. Just a question meant to redirect.
WHEN YOU’RE IN THE CAVE
If you’re reading this and you feel stuck… If it feels dark… If you’re questioning yourself or your direction…
You’re not broken. You’re not behind. You’re human.
And maybe this is your reminder to step back out.
Not with a giant leap—but with one small step.
As Teddy Roosevelt said: “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
Start there. Then take another step. Then another. Momentum returns quietly.
A FEW TRUTHS TO CARRY WITH YOU
1 - You, like every human, can call down some type of fire—your own unique gift.
2 - It can get dark. You can feel alone. You can find yourself in a cave.
3 - Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.
4 - Think big. Start small. Do something—no matter how tiny—but do it now.
5 - Then do another tiny thing.
6 - And another.
God often speaks in whispers, not noise.
So here’s the question I’ll leave you with this week:
What are you doing here?
And more importantly…
What’s the next small step you’re willing to take?
If your business needs marketing that works, give us a call. We're here to help!
Have a great day unless you chose otherwise!
