Three Choices That Shape Your Life!
As I look back over my life, I can see that some of my greatest lessons didn't come during the easy seasons.
They came during the difficult ones.
Whether it was chasing the dream of playing professional hockey, building businesses, coaching young athletes, or walking through some of life's most challenging moments with my family, I've learned that life has a way of teaching us lessons we could never learn from a book.
Over the years, I've discovered that much of life comes down to three things:
Challenges.
Choices.
And change.
Challenges Will Find All of Us
One thing hockey taught me very early is that nobody gets a free pass.
Every player faces adversity.
Every team experiences losing streaks.
Every business owner faces setbacks.
Every family walks through difficult seasons.
Challenges aren't a sign that something has gone wrong.
They're often the very thing God uses to prepare us for what's ahead.
Some of the greatest growth in my life didn't happen after victories.
It happened after disappointments.
After mistakes.
After doors closed.
Looking back, I wouldn't choose many of those experiences again.
But I also wouldn't trade what they taught me.
Challenges have a way of revealing who we really are.
And if we're willing to learn, they help shape who we're becoming.
Our Choices Define Our Future
I've also learned that while we can't always control what happens to us, we can always control how we respond.
Every day we're making choices.
Some are big.
Most are small.
Do we show up with a good attitude?
Do we keep our word?
Do we encourage someone who's struggling?
Do we choose faith instead of fear?
Do we keep going when quitting would be easier?
Those decisions may not seem significant in the moment.
But over time, they shape the direction of our lives.
I've seen talented players waste incredible opportunities because of poor choices.
I've also watched ordinary people accomplish extraordinary things because they consistently made the right decisions day after day.
Success is rarely built on one defining moment.
It's built on thousands of small decisions that nobody else sees.
Change Is Part of God's Plan
One thing you can count on in life is change.
The game changes.
Business changes.
Technology changes.
Our families grow.
Our children grow up.
Life never stands still.
Sometimes we welcome change.
Other times we resist it because it feels uncomfortable.
I've learned that many of the greatest blessings in my life came after seasons I never would have chosen.
If I had held tightly to what was familiar, I might have missed what God was preparing next.
Change has a way of stretching us.
It forces us to trust.
To learn.
To grow.
And often to discover strengths we didn't know we possessed.
I've found that God rarely leaves us where we are.
He's always preparing us for what's next.
Life Is Built One Decision at a Time
As I continue this journey, I've become convinced that we don't control every circumstance we'll face.
But we do control the attitude we bring into those circumstances.
We don't get to choose every challenge.
We do get to choose our response.
And while change is inevitable, growth is always optional.
Every challenge can make us stronger.
Every choice moves us closer to—or further away from—the life we're trying to build.
Every season of change presents an opportunity to trust God a little more.
Final Thought
Life isn't defined by the challenges you face.
It's defined by the choices you make when those challenges arrive.
If your business needs marketing that works, give us a call. We're here to help!
Have a great day unless you chose otherwise!
